[Food] Dim sum buffet @ Restaurant D'Fong
Every time I hesitated when ordering dim sum due to the priceSo when I noticed this dim sum buffet selling on groupon, just bought it immediately.
Dim Sum Buffet @ Restaurant D'Fong
Price bought was RM58 for 2pax (RM29 each)

After looking at the menu, feel that it's quite worthy
And the atmosphere was quite good and classy
So I assumed the food can't be too bad
Xiao long bao
After eating dragon-i, I have a very high expectations on xiao long bao.
There's a very cute spoon to keep the juices, but eventually the skin was sticking on the spoon.
The meat was not really tasteful, and the skin was definitely too thick.
Steamed dumpling
Similar to xiao long bao, but to go with sauce (similar to soy sauce)
So it was quite tasteful and appetizing
Siew mai
Nothing special about it
Har gaw (prawn dumpings)
The skin was super thick !!
The prawn was not fresh at all.
Failed :(
Steamed fu chuk
Not bad
Chew zhou mai
Taste more flour than meat :(
Some other dim sums in one shot
Steamed rice rolls with prawn
Big NO to the prawn :(
Initially the waitress said we gotta wait 20mins for the steamed dim sums
We ended up ordering quite a lot cos we were hungry
However, like I said, more flour than meat
And it tastes more like those wholesale dim sums
Sweet potato ball
Taste good, has custard inside
Mini egg tarts
Also not bad, has kaya filling in it.
Herbal jelly
Still ok, as it has the bitter taste
Very small portion, a tea cup size
Honeydew Sago
More milk taste than the honeydew
Not much sago, and served with some ice cubes...
As for desserts, I was a bit stunned, as the prices were quite high if ordered a la carte
But when served, the portion is just, a little (maybe due to buffet)
Wanted to buy a half roasted duck with RM10 (groupon customers only)
But seems like we got it wrong, it's just a rebate of RM10. So we let it go.
In conclusion, we felt full easily due to the flour in dim sum
Will I have a next visit here? Probably not for me :/
