[Food] Favourite pan-mein @ Jojo Kitchen

It's a shop that I will go to at least once a week.
Located at Wangsa Maju Section 2, there're around 5 pan-mein noodles shop,
which are Jojo, Fancy Mee, SSL, QQ noodles and 'lat jiu pan-mein'.
I have tried 4 of them, but eventually enjoyed Jojo the most.

Taste buds is a very personal thing, I'm not a fan of 'lat jiu pan mein'
Still looking for traditional type, soup-based, and thick noodles
That's why I didn't go crazy over Fancy Mee, Face 2 Face that are famous for their lat jiu pan mein or dry-based, thin noodles
Also because I used to eat at a shop in which they serve really thick noodles that provide great texture
Since it closed down, I have never had these kind of noodles outside.
To cut costs, noodles are getting thinner and thinner :(

Stories will always get longer...so let's go straight in the topic

Jojo Kitchen @ Wangsa Maju

As a pan-mein noodle shop, they also have foods other than pan-mein
Like yee-mein, curry meehoon and snacks such as fried wonton

You can choose either thick noodle or thin noodle
All price are subject to 6% GST.

My favourite one - minced pork pan-mein 
(Soup-based, thick noodle)
Very flavourful minced pork, generous in quantity
Thick and nice broth. Noodles have enough thickness and chewiness.
RM7.40 (including GST) 

If you'd like to go for a bigger portion
Just add another RM1.50 to have a large one!

Someone's recent favourite - traditional pan mein
(Dry-based, thick noodles)
All kinds of condiments, including pork slices, minced pork, mushroom, black fungus and also anchovies.
Jojo's dry-based is more on the sweet side, and heavy flavoured.
Which goes well with their own chilli, not too hot but with slight sourness

RM7.40 (including GST)

Someone loves his noodles with sambal and chilli flakes of lat jiu pan mein.
Here serves 4 kinds of chilli, their signature pan mein chilli (as seen above)
The rest are sambal, chilli fakes, and green pan mein chilli, placed on table
You can choose your favourite to go with the noodles

He also recommended Fried Pork pan-mein.

Another favourite of mine - knife cut noodle
Pretty similar to our 'mein fen kueh', but it's dried shrimp broth
Which has a deeper colour and quite thick
Added with some black pepper, so it's a bit hot.

This is the reason why I keep going back!
Not regular pork slices, but a mixture of fish+pork
Silky, soft texture and taste wonderful
If you had mein fen kueh at JB, you would know this is a JB version
Since it's name suggests Hakka knife cut noodle, it should be from hakka region
(I don't know much, can't comment)
But this one, is really one of a kind!

You get a stamp for each bowl of noodles
Collect 10 and you get a bowl for free!
(And they always consider the highest price one f.o.c)

[Food] 至爱的板面 @ Jojo Kitchen板面专卖店

这是一家我吃了很久,每个星期至少会吃一次的店
位于Wangsa Maju Section 2, 细数有大约5间板面专卖店
有Jojo, 爱面子,SSL板面,QQ板面还有最近开张的辣椒板面
除了辣椒板面没去尝试过,其他的基本上都有吃过
最后还是投入了Jojo 完全符合我对板面的要求

只能说口味是很个人的,我并不热衷于辣椒板面
追求的还是传统式的板面,清汤的,并且是粗面
于是并不热衷爱面子、面对面这类主打辣椒板面/干捞(幼面)
也基于小时候有一家板面,他们的面条特别厚,很有口感
关闭了以后,外面一直没吃到这种板面,为了节约成本面条是越擀越薄……

故事永远都说不完……那么进入正题吧

作为板面专卖店,他其实也有卖其他的
比如伊面、咖喱米粉、还有炸云吞之类的小吃

记得是新年时价钱涨了,现在还要加上GST
哭哭,可是好吃没办法 

人家给我起的绰号是“独沽一味”
这是我通常会点的-肉碎板面(清汤,粗面)
肉碎很够味,分量也很多,汤头比较重口味
面条厚,很有嚼劲!到最后汤都充满肉碎香超好喝的
RM7.40 (含GST) 

起价之后其实面条变多了,所以不需加大也吃得饱
现在加大是+RM1.50

这是某人近来的favourite-传统板面(干捞,粗面)
既是什么料都有,包括肉片、肉碎、木耳、冬菇、江鱼仔
Jojo的干捞是偏甜的,当然也还是比较重口味
配他们家的板面辣椒很好吃,不会很辣,微酸

某人最喜欢的是配sambal+辣椒板面的辣椒
这里提供4种辣椒:板面辣椒(送面时会给你的,如图)
其余是摆在桌上的:sambal, 辣椒板面的辣椒,青色的板面辣椒
就看你喜欢怎么样的辣味搭配板面咯


以前某人总是点炸肉板面,但由于起价了
为了节约开销就开始吃传统板面,炸肉某人也很喜欢,说很好吃

偶尔兴起我也会吃这个-客家刀马切
等于我们的面粉粿,但稍微不一样
他们强调这个汤头是虾米汤(但我无从认证)
颜色比较深,很浓稠,添加不少黑胡椒所以有点辣

但会让我不断回头是因为这个!
简称“鱼滑”,实际是鱼肉+猪肉的混合物(还有萝卜)
因为有鱼肉所以吃起来不会很硬,有点滑滑的,也很有口感
如果有在JB吃过当地的面粉粿就会知道,这是JB版本的面粉粿
不过名字是客家刀马切,还是必须追溯到客家菜的根本(我不了解,无从评价)
跟JB面粉粿相比还是有些不同,所以Jojo的是与众不同!
